Really muddy headphones, they wouldn't be so bad if they weren't though.

These new line of Koss canalphones have mostly gone by people, since very few people know these canalphones exist, but maybe it should be left that way. These canalphones aren't drop-dead terrible, but both the JVC HAFX33 and the Koss KSC75 sound generally better. Koss has never quite "had it" with canalphones, and these are a slight step in the right direction, but still not in the circle of goodness. The sound quality is actually good, but it feels as if there is a cloud of bloatness above it all. The bass is well-extended, but it's not punchy. The mids are there, but they seem dark and nasaly. The detais are there, but the highs are completely muted. The sound in general feels dark and veiled. In other aspects, they are very comfortable, and they are pretty stylish. (look like broke V-Moda Vibes) A problem I do have is that the pads are very difficult to take on and off. And when I take the canalphones out, it feels like they are sucking on my eardrum like a vaccum. Like any canalphone they are portable, and their 16 ohms impendance makes an amplifier quite useless. They've sure got looks and comfort down, but we'll have to wait for the true valued canalphone that Koss should be delievering.
