Bass is the standout feature of the Lyrics. It's low and strong, excellent for such an in-ear headphone. The midrange is good, perhaps slightly recessed, but it sounds good and performs well.
The weak point of the Lyrics is the treble. The high frequencies such as cymbals are quite recessed, which comes across as a lack of detail. They're there, and you can hear them, but they're not great. Fortunately they respond reasonably well to equalisation.
They're a little larger than most in-ear headphones, though not excessively so. The body of the earphone sits inside the hollow of your ear, without touching it, so the size is no problem. They're quite comfortable, if you like in-ear phones.
Overall the Lyrics are a little bass heavy, a little treble light, but all in all they're a good in-ear headphone which are an enjoyable listen. At $89 they're quite good value.
