The new white M-80 has some small improvements over the original model, and the white color is new. Bass is excellent but it's not bassy in any respect, nor especially lean. Highs are soft and thus the mids lack some detail on that account. When a modest treble boost is applied it clears up the mids making the mids and treble very good, especially with a good amp. The M-80 is very lightweight and comfortable, and so is very good as a portable, yet with a good amp as described above may be a good choice for home use too. Although the sound is the most important thing, the white M-80 is easily the best looking headphone I've seen, and the all-metal construction is impressive.
