These are good looking headphones, with a shiny dark metal case. They're a little cold when they're first inserted, but they quickly warm up. Like most canal phones the cables banging around do transmit noise and sound into your ear.

The bass is good, low and strong, but not overpowering. In bass heavy music the bass can overwhelm the mids and highs a little, but I think this is as it's been mixed by the producer to compensate for the generally low quality of headphones and speakers that people use.

Mids are clear and well balanced. Highs are crisp, perhaps very slightly recessed, but overall they're good.

Overall these canalphones are very good performers, and they're excellent value. They're well balanced, versatile, and comfortable.

If I were to improve these headphones i'd give them unequal cord lengths, so the cord can run down one side of your body out of the way instead of being right in front of you. I'd also consider doing a version that someone addresses the microphonics, or cord noise.

Like all TFT Acoustics products they're too sensitive. With an iPod Touch on minimum volume I sometimes found the music a little too loud, though I was usually happy with the volume on one or two out of sixteen. On full volume permanent damage to the listeners ears would be done in seconds or minutes. Because of this the headphones aren't suitable for children or teenagers, and should be used with caution.
