I'm not a fan of earbuds, mostly because of generally poor comfort, but the sound is rarely great either. These earbuds fit that mould perfectly.
It took me a while to get these fitting properly, and even then they weren't comfortable. Small differences in position made a big difference to the sound.
The earphone does have bass, but because they didn't fit well very little of it arrived at my ear drum. Mids and highs performed similarly poorly, with little detail in the highs and a veiled midrange. If you hold the earbuds in your hands and push them flush with your ears then the sound's ok, but otherwise it's pretty poor.
Like all TFT Acoustics products they're far too sensitive. This means even on minimum volume on an iPod the volume is sometimes higher than is comfortable. On full volume permanent damage to the listener would be done in seconds or minutes. Because of this the headphones aren't suitable for children or teenagers, and should only be used by adults.
