6.5/10Just a few notes to qualify some of the ratings that would not be obvious: The highs are so strong (more than HD800 I think) that I can only give the IE800 a six. Soundstage seems OK to good for an IEM, but not unusual. Portability is good in the sense of size, but the carrycase design is fiddly. Sennheiser's isolation spec doesn't match my simple test with a music speaker playing from a few feet away. Comfort is very different from headphones, but the IE800 seems in a class well above any other IEM I've tried. Durability is a tough call, but because of the build quality, extra mesh/screen design, and inclusion of a cleaning tool, I give them above average for that. Value may be the hardest of all to judge being $1000 USD, but the amazing smoothness of micro-details, the lack of any resonance effects I can find, and the level of involvement in the music this sound quality enables might constitute a bargain for some users.
Edit: While the soundstage doesn't seem wide to me, I hear a depth and realism from many tracks that I don't hear with my full-size headphones.
