soundwise, the headbanger audio universal earsubs were quite possibly the BEST headphones you could buy for under 50 bucks, HELL for under 100 bucks. the sound was amazing for headphones of its price which was between 20-25 dollars depending on where you purchased them.

the bass, volume and overall crispness of sound these things created were awe inspiring. this was all done by a battery powered amplifier installed on the unit which used 2 AAA batteries. these are the best headphones ive ever used so far. the highs are very very good as is the bass and everything soundwise.. very good sound clarity when you listened to a portable music player such as a sony walkman or iriver type music player. comfort was also dare i say excellent as i never felt them when i wore them..they also came with different sized earbud pads which you could interchange for different ear sizes. so overall i never felt anything while i wore them on my daily travels, the only thing i felt was the music jammin' in my head.. oh what a wonderful feeling.

the headphones used a strap which you would wear around your neck to keep the heaphones in place as you went about your merry way.

these headphones do have a flaw.. and when i say flaw.. i mean MAJOR FLAW..

seems that headbanger audio ((the company)), in order to make these headphones available at the price they did got very lax on the materials they chose to put together these headphones.. i can sadly say that these are the 4TH pair of these model earsubs ive owned and had to use. seems that these headphones have a life expectancy of no longer than 6 1/2 months ((often less)) at which time for no apparent rhyme or reason one of the ears cease to function!!! and yes this happened to EVERY SINGLE PAIR IVE OWNED of this particular model.. oh and just so you know this isnt some freak isolated, zany super string world of coincidences.. ahem..my brother, who is the one who put me on to these otherwise wonderful headphones ((and hes owned about 7 pairs of these headphones)) had the SAME EXACT THING happened to him first before they did me..

luckily for us when we had to contact the company they would send us ((free of charge)) brand new replacements for each malfunctioned unit we sent in.. and we've had to do it a few times.. and then sometime during late 2007 we found out that they no longer made these headphones and were in the middle of restructuring their businesses..

so if they will ever start making these headphones again.. which we'll never know until we see em on the shelves.. but hopefully if they do they'll be vastly improved workmanship wise.. as i can only imagine how well these headphones would be if made of greater quality materials ..

so if you ever find these headphones brand knew.. cherish em but know that if they were made pre 2008 you'll have about 6 1/2 months to enjoy em.. LOL!!!

other wise i give these headphones an 8 out of 10

This is a very special product. It's extremely cheap (20$ at Wal-Mart), comes with a small 2-AAA powered amplifier on the cord, and produce a sound that is very addictive. It is in no way an audiophile product, in spite of what their Web site announces. The sound is actually bass-oriented, on the dark side of the spectrum. The highs do not go up really high and the mids are nothing special.

But when you put the right stuff in it, awesome is the only word. The bass is phenomenally visceral! This is the closest thing to a Live concert.

The fact is, I actually enjoy my music more often with these HeadBangers than with my other, more expensive, more neutral sounding, headphones (Here I'm talking about Sennheiser HD555, Audio-Technica PRO-30 and Sony MDR-EX85...)

This is, by far, the best value for the money.
