The Harman/Kardon CL has a very recessed treble compared to an average high fidelity headphone, but responds well in my view to a bit of treble boost. With that accomplished expect a somewhat light (not dark) sound with good bass extension and satisfactory weight given the size and earpad type. Mids are slightly emphasized around 700 hz I think lightening up the sound. Detail resolution with good amps/DACS is pleasing but not the equal of many full size headphones above $200 or so. The headband is stretch-only, with no other adjustments. Earpads are very similar to the B&W P5. My only complaint is when wearing around the neck I can't pull the earcups down. It works OK but too close to my chin to be ideal as an all-day carry around the neck.
