The DT770-32LE has a big peak around 7-10 khz that makes it too hot for a lot of music unless EQ'd down a few db. This emphasis adds to the sense of detail and soundstage, but it's not the best of either. The overall sound is rather cavernous and dark, and using the DT770LE with a mini-DAC like the Headstreamer or Dragonfly improves the lower end quite a bit. With the mini-DAC and a small reduction of highs around 7 khz, the sound is very enjoyable and detailed, making the value quite good. The deep bass has great impact and detail with the mini-DAC, not as good with lesser amps. This 32 ohm version is targeted toward portable music players.
